Lex Futshane – Innocent Victims & Perpetrators by Lindikaya Ntshinga
The shaping of my Jazz journey is firmly grounded in the Eastern Cape, particularly my Hometown of Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). It is more intimate for me that some of these steps move inside my Family home. All of the people have walked inside my home for rehearsals or a Meet and greet growing up. Some of the notable ones were Bhut Monde, uGiqwa, known to many as Lex Lex Futshane. He was a skinny Hip Uncle in the 80s, friends with and played with the likes of Feya Faku, Lulu Gontsana, and Zim Gqawana. I inherited a Vinyl Album from my Mother called the Jazzanians. I am proud and Happy that he keeps coming back home to preach in Jazz. Gqeberha is in for a treat this weekend. My friend, my Mentor, as a Teacher and a Humble Soul. Bra Monde Muligan Lex Futshane
